BOI launches revamped website based on Microsoft technology

MUMBAI - The Bank of India on Friday announced the launch of its revamped website which is based on Microsoft’s Web 2.0 business framework technology. The new website will enable real-time content sharing and exciting collaboration services, and customers will now be able to access the best of breed web banking facilities complete with an interactive platform and next generation Internet services.

The new website boasts technology support from Microsoft and uses its latest tools including Windows Server 2008, Internet Information Services(IIS7), Silverlight 2.0, Visual Studio 2008 and ASP.NET 3.5. The Microsoft platform allows seamless integration and development of content with ease of end user consumption. Bank of India is the first nationalised bank in India to deliver the state of the art web banking facilities to its customers.

Using the Internet Banking facility of Bank of India, a customer can carry out every type of transaction, be it simple enquiry, lodging cheque book request, payment of bills, taxes, booking ticket. Bank of India is one of the few banks in the country which offer funds transfer even to accounts with other banks through their Internet banking infrastructure. Chic Infotech, Mumbai, a global information technology company, has developed the new website based on Microsoft tools and technologies.

At the occasion, Mr T S Narayanasami, CMD, Bank of India commented: “We have seen a lot of our customers shift to broadband recently and expect a lot more to get broadband access in the coming time. The new website and services are tailored to provide them a seamless and high quality internet-banking experience. At the same time, we have ensured that customers accessing our services through a regular internet continue getting a convenient banking experience. We expect this service will help us in increasing our customer base while providing existing retail and business customer base a secure and informative banking.
